Nine teams to compete in Optibet Baltic and Latvian championship next season

The Directorate of the Optibet Hockey League (OHL) organized by the Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF) has approved the composition of the participants of the Baltic and Latvian championship for the next season. Nine teams will compete in the championship in the 2026/2027 season.

Next season, "MOGO/RSU", "Zemgale/LBTU", Kiev "Capitals", "Liepāja hockey team", "Prizma/RTU", Riga HS/Dinaburga, Tallinn "Panter", Elektrēni "Energija" and Vilnius "Hockey Punks" will compete for the title of Baltic and Latvian champion.

Consequently, the teams of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Ukraine will also form an international championship next season, continuing the development of hockey competitions in the Baltic region.

"The past season in the OHL was very successful. This was confirmed by both the intrigue and high competition on the field, the growing public interest in the championship, as well as successful communication. It is important to continue this positive trend in the next season. The composition of nine teams and the representation of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Ukraine in the championship are a good basis for this. We hope that the new season will also be exciting and interesting for the fans," says Jana Gormaļova, head of the Optibet brand.

The OHL Directorate discussed issues related to the organization of the 2026/2027 season and the conduct of the championship.
