Latvian U-18 women's national team candidates play each other's game

Latvian U-18 women's national hockey team candidates played each other's test match on Thursday, August 20, at the Daugava Ice Hall.

The Latvian U-18 national team's "bordeaux" team defeated the U-18 "white" team with a score of 4:2 (1:1, 2:0, 1:1).

Uva Bērziņa stood out in the winning team with two goals, while Alina Ščepina and Viktorija Kuzovatkina scored one goal each. In turn, Kitija Dūce and Dita Kokina were accurate in the "white" team.

The Bordeaux team made 36 shots on goal during the game, while the Whites had 11.

After this friendly match, 25 players and three goalkeepers will continue to train with the national team, while 20 players and two goalkeepers will travel to Lithuania. The squad for Lithuania will be announced on Friday evening.

The friendly match with the Lithuanian U18 women's national hockey team will take place on Saturday, 22.08.2026, at 15:45 at the Kaunas Ice Arena, Lithuania. The game will be available to watch in person for free. The game will be available online at: www.hockeylietuva.tv.

About the championship:
The U18 Women's World Hockey Championship Division II Group A tournament will take place from January 25 to January 31, 2027 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Together with the Latvian national team, Australia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Romania and Turkey will participate in the respective group tournament.
