Optibet Hockey League's new season will start on September 5

The 2026/2027 season of the Optibet Hockey League (OHL) Baltic Championship will start on September 5.

As is known, in the next season, the OHL will feature "MOGO/RSU", "Zemgale/LBTU", Kiev "Capitals", "Liepājas hokeja komanda", "Prizma/RTU", Riga HS/Dinaburga, Tallinn "Panter", Elektrenu "Energija" and Vilnius "Hockey Punks".

In the regular championship, the teams will play 32 games or four rounds. After the end of the regular tournament, the six best teams will advance to the playoffs.

The quarterfinal pairings will be determined according to the same principle as in the previous season - the 3rd place winner of the regular championship will compete with the 6th place team, and the 4th place team will meet with the 5th place winner. The top two teams in the regular season will begin the playoff series from the semifinals. The quarterfinal series will be played to three wins, while the semifinal and final series will be played to four wins.

The winner of the OHL playoff series will be crowned the Baltic champion. In turn, the teams that finish the regular season in the highest position from the Latvian and Lithuanian teams will be recognized as the champions of their countries.

The 2026/2027 OHL regular season calendar will be published next week.

The pre-season press conference/presentation of the new OHL season will take place in early September. The Latvian Hockey Federation will inform about the event separately.
